Powering journeys that move you
Powering journeys that move you
When Naren Shaam travelled in Europe in 2010, he felt a personal sense of frustration: why was it possible to book a taxi on an app within two minutes or order a book for same-day delivery with the touch of a button, but finding timetables and purchasing tickets for ground transport internationally was impossibly complicated?
Omio was founded in 2013 to solve this problem: By bringing together data on trains, flights, buses, and ferries, Omio makes transport decisions radically simple.
No other company unifies multiple modes of transport at scale, making travel easier, more affordable and sustainable. By empowering travellers to make informed decisions about how to get from A to B, Omio connects the world.
Companies in the Omio Group all share one vision: to enable billions of people to travel seamlessly – anywhere, anyway. With millions of bookable routes across 2,300 travel partners in 45 countries and 80,000 tickets sold daily, the Omio Travel App is the leading global source of inventory for multi-modal transportation. Rome2Rio is the global leader in trip and route planning, helping over 600 million annual visitors find their best journey to anywhere in the world. Trusted by large global brands like Uber, Google and Kayak, Omio B2B is the go-to tech partner for global transport, offering bespoke solutions to enable dynamic search, bookings and amend tickets on partners’ platforms.

Naren Shaam travels across Europe and finds booking a journey between Paris and Amsterdam extremely challenging. This makes him wonder why it’s so difficult to book travel online when ordering a taxi is so easy.
Naren quits his job and moves to Berlin to launch Omio (then GoEuro), a meta-search platform offering different modes of transport in several European countries.
